
The trade group AISTA said on Monday that India exported 4.24 lakh tonnes of sugar until April of the current 2024–25 marketing year, with a maximum shipment of 92,758 tonnes to Somalia.
October through September is when sugar is marketed. On January 20, 2025, sugar exports from India were permitted for the 2024–25 marketing year. 10 lakh tons is the maximum amount that can be exported.
As of April 30 of the current marketing year, mills have exported 424,089 tonnes of sugar, according to the All India Sugar Trade Association (AISTA).
Up until April of this year, the export of white sugar was 3.27 lakh tonnes, refined sugar was 77,603 tonnes, and raw sugar was 18,514 tonnes.
According to the statement, the AISTA anticipates exporting 800,000 tons of sugar out of the one million tons that the central government has approved.
