CHENNAI: Showcasing its expertise in handling over dimensional heavy lift project cargo once again, Chennai Port successfully handled one such cargo — CPCL’s consignment of HCGO reactor, weighing 336 tonnes, which was loaded at JNPT in coastal vessel m.v. Prima Dora and reached here recently.
According to a media statement from the port authorities, the 37.35 m long, 4.8 m high over dimensional cargo was efficiently handled and off loaded on to the trailer, as a testimony to Chennai Port’s capacities in handling many such over dimensional cargo.
Steamer Agent M/s. Pearl Shipping and Handling Agent M/s. Lee Muirhead while expressing their confidence in the Port reaffirmed their choice of Chennai Port as the dependable and preferable Port for such project cargo.
Mr M A Bhaskarachar, Chairman and Mr Cyril C George, Deputy Chairman of Chennai Port, appreciated the officials / staff of Port and the handling agents, for the remarkable and skillful handling of the heavy single consignment and wished that many more such laurels shall be earned by the Port and the Port users in future.
