Indian two-wheeler manufacturer Bajaj Auto is looking at venturing into new international markets and soon will start to export its Dominar 400 to Australia reports Carandbike. Bajaj believes that it will be able to capitalise the niche Australian market which is slowly but steadily growing in sub-500 cc motorcycle segment. Bajaj Dominar 400 is already exported to international markets including South East Asia and Latin America. Bajaj Auto entered the sub-500 cc segment with the launch of the Dominar 400 last year. Soon after its launch, it has become one of the top-selling premium motorcycles for the company.

Bajaj Dominar 400 is powered by the tried and tested KTM 390 Duke's 373.3cc liquid-cooled, single-cylinder engine. The engine on the Bajaj Dominar 400 delivers 34 hp of power at 8,000 rpm and 35 Nm of peak torque at 6,500 rpm. Other highlights of the motorcycle include a twin-channel ABS (Antilock Braking System), slipper clutch, daytime running headlamp and digital instrument cluster.

In August, 2017, the two-wheeler manufacturer sold 171,664 units in the domestic markets as against 174,719 units in August last year. The company's domestic sales declined by 2 percent. However, the exports registered a growth of 7 percent last month as it exported 112,197 units as against 105,192 units during the same month last year. The report also suggests that Bajaj's initial sales were between 10,000 to 12,000 motorcycles every month and till now, the company has been able to register an average of around 1,500 units per month in the domestic market. The company also expects the sales to go up to 2,000 units this festive season. Bajaj's export market accounts for 45 percent of total sales and the motorcycle manufacturer is aiming to grow by 7 percent in the first half of the current financial year.
