A notification from the Commerce Ministry states that the government has approved the import and export of jewellery and gem parcels via personal carriage at Ahmedabad Airport.

The airports in Delhi, Mumbai, Kolkata, Chennai, Bengaluru, Hyderabad, and Jaipur currently offer this option.

According to the Directorate General of Foreign Trade (DGFT), "import and export of gems and jewellery parcels for personal carriage are also permitted through Ahmedabad airport."

The ministry's DGFT division handles issues about imports and exports.
