US President Joe Biden is expected to discuss India's import restrictions on items like laptops and other electronic products with Prime Minister Narendra Modi this week while in New Delhi to take part in the G20 Leaders' Summit, according to the sources.

From September 7 to September 10, Biden will be in India, and on the second day of his trip, he will meet with Modi in private.

Concerns about "security risks to citizens" were the reason given by India for its recent decision to impose limits on the entry of a variety of electronic products, including laptops, tablets, personal computers, and servers. The decision will come into effect on November 1, 2023.

India's imports of US IT hardware appear to be relatively small in comparison to its imports from other nations, with China dominating the list. However, well-known American makers of computers and servers, such as Apple, Dell, HP, and Cisco, are concerned since they depend significantly on factories in China and Southeast Asia to produce goods for the Indian market.
