Export Import Data

Vadakara: Despite a decline in prices, India has exported more coconut products this year than ever before.

According to export import data, the nation exported coconut products worth Rs 3554.23 crore in the fiscal year 2022–23, an increase of Rs 318.23 crore from the year before. In the last four years, the export value has quite doubled.

With a total export of 1.5 tonnes worth Rs 2369.76 crore, activated carbon made from coconut shells came in first place in terms of both quantity and price.

This represents around 66.65% of the total export value. The production of cosmetic items, as well as the purification of water and the reduction of air pollution, all depend on activated carbon.

According to reports, most factories that produce activated carbon are located outside of Kerala. However, the state of carbon generation produces significant amounts of coconut shells. According to reports, shell carbon exports in 2017 were Rs 60.82 crore.
