Subject Russian Military Export Exceeds $15 Billion – India, China Big Importers

Russian military export is one of the largest, and most cost effective in the world. Last year, Russia recorded a surge in Russian military export growth, for the third consecutive year. In 2017 the Russian military export was over $15 billion, making them one of the world’s largest defense exporters. Three nations— India, China and Algeria accounted for about 60% of total Russian defemce exports.

As reported by TASS, President Putin stated that Russian military export, hardware and weapons, has been successfully growing, working its way to becoming a global leader in weapons exports. The President proudly commented on Russia military export success stating high standards as one of the foundation reasons for the position that Russia has gained in the global weapons export market.

Putin On Russian Military Export
At a recent meet held at the commission on cooperation for military-technical aspects, the President declared that in the previous year the country’s military export contracts were evaluated at around $16 billion, almost double of the year before that.

There are many factors that support the growth of the Russian military export, like a surge in number of partner countries, a steady increase in geographic relations and the demand. According to the last year monetary figures the total value for orders to the Russian military export is over 45 billion dollars. The country already has enough orders to be able to supply the latest and most advanced defense weapons and systems for many more years.

The Demand and Pressures for Russian Military Export
Considering the current conflicts and the wars, the demand for weapons, defense systems and advanced security measures will only keep growing. Russia’s military export services are available for all partner countries, including defense systems for air, land and naval forces.

As stated by the President at the meet, three nations have been exerting ‘unconcealed and unprecedented’ force on partner countries of Russia, to remove the country as a export market competition. These pressure tactics are aimed at uprooting the Russian military export position as well as weaken the military power of the partnering countries and states. However, the country continues to grow even when surrounded by political and economic pressures.
