Nitin Gadkari Congratulates SCI Female Seafarer For Exceptional Bravery at Sea

NEW DELHI: On the sidelines of the inauguration of ‘Swachhta Pakhwara’ at The Shipping Corporation of India Ltd (SCI), Shri Nitin Gadkari, Union Minister of Shipping, Government of India congratulated and commemorated SCI’s serving Master Captain Radhika Menon who is the first female seafarer ever to win the prestigious ‘IMO Award for Exceptional Bravery at Sea’.

Capt. Radhika Menon has been serving with SCI for the past 25 years and was the first lady Captain in the Indian Merchant Navy. Capt. Radhika Menon was presented the Medal and the Certificate of Commendation at Awards Ceremony held at IMO Headquarters, London, U.K.
