MUMBAI: In view of heavy traffic congestion from GPO to Wadi bunder (Eastern Free-way up/down ramp) on P. D’Mello road, Mumbai Port Trust commenced pay and park facility for general public on East and West of P. D’Mello road on its vacant land between Carnac bunder and Wadi bunder Junctions. This pay and park facility for trailers, trucks, buses, cars, tempos and motorcycles will be of great help to decongest this stretch of road resulting in pollution control and speedy travel of commuters using Eastern freeway. It will be operated through a contractor at the rates being levied by MCGM.
About 500 trucks/ buses can be accommodated in 1.80 lakh sqft. day night parking facility spread over several plots. This facility is about 750 mtrs from Crawford market and 500 mtrs from Chhatrapati Shivaji Terminus New exit on P D’Mello road.
The parking facility was inaugurated by Shri Sunil Rane, Trustee, Mumbai Port Trust on 20.04.2017.
