KOCHI, MAY 19: Upsurge in imports of Vietnam pepper via Sri Lanka paying 8 per cent import duty instead of 54 per cent is depriving the national exchequer of $2,000 a tonne, market sources told Business Line.
On the terminal market 33 tonnes were traded at ?500- ?520 a kg.
20 tonnes of Rajkumari pepper were traded today at ?520 a kg.
Indian export prices were at $8,250 a tonne c&f for Euope and $8,500 a tonne c&f for the US.
