The export of passenger cars from Russia in January-April 2020 fell by 35.2% compared to the same period of 2019 to 21.7 thousand vehicles, according to the Federal customs service (FCS). In value terms, imports declined by 35.3% to $297 million.
Exports of trucks over the four months amounted to 3.1 thousand units at $92,6 million (for 30.2% and -12,1%, respectively).
In April, exports were sent 4.5 thousand cars for $50.8 million Thus, by March 2020, a fall of 36.4% in quantitative terms in terms of value of 47.9 per cent. In annual terms, the export of passenger cars in April decreased by 2.3 times in number and nearly three times the cost. Export trucks in April amounted to 0.9 thousand units at $22.8 million (-12.5 percent and -30,9% by March 2020, respectively). Thus, the past year recorded a fall of 1.7 times and 1.4 times – for the money.
In turn, the import of passenger cars in Russia in January-April fell in annual terms by 26.3%, to 66.1 thousand units at $1,622 billion (-34%). Import of trucks for four months amounted to 5.8 thousand units at $322,7 million in quantitative terms, it fell by 36.1% in terms of value by 52.7%.
In April, Russia imported only 13.8 thousand cars on $273 million (-46,3% and -57,8% by March 2020 respectively), – halving in annual terms in the number and almost three times – at a cost. Import of trucks in April amounted to 0.9 thousand units at $56.7 million (-59,4% in volume and -42,7% by value). To last year imported three times less than that of trucks by quantity and 3.7 times less in monetary terms.
Import of parts and accessories for motor vehicles in January-April amounted to 376,4 thousand tons at $2,425 billion (-14,7% or by 14,9% to January-April 2019 respectively). In April there were imported 76,7 thousand tons for $454,6 million (-34,1% and -39,4% by March 2020 respectively) is 1.6 times less than in April 2019, by number and 1.8 times less in monetary terms.
