AHMEDABAD: Adani Ports and Special Economic Zone Ltd (APSEZ), India’s largest port developer and operator’s, Container Terminal, Mundra, recently organized a trade meet at Rajkot with the intent of showcasing the capabilities of Mundra Port and recent developments thereat, to their stakeholders.

The event witnessed an attendance of over 140 representatives, covering the entire gamut of stakeholders in the supply chain, from major exporters of cotton, yarn, agri-products and engineering goods to shipping lines, CFS operators, Freight Forwarders and Customs House Agents.

Mr. Shahzad Athar, GM, APSEZ - Container Marketing, addressed the audience, presenting an overview of Mundra Port, the various terminals, infrastructure, global and hinterland connectivity and the cost and supply chain advantages offered.

Capt. Kumar Paritosh, AGM - Container Terminal Operations, then briefed the attendees about the state of the art infrastructure and the operational advantages accruing therefrom, as well as the impressive track record in operational safety.

One of the esteemed guests, Mr. Satish Dave from DML Exim Pvt Ltd, a major cotton and Agri Products exporter, expressed his gratification with Adani Ports and its pre-eminent role in enabling trade within the region, saying “We are very impressed with the way Adani Mundra Port has progressed. We are doing 100% of our exports from Mundra and are very satisfied with the services, infrastructure and response we get from Adani Ports. Adani’s Mundra Port is the Ideal Port for Rajkot and Saurashtra Region”.

Another distinguished attendee, Mr. Aplesh Pan, Director, Jaydeep Cotton Fibres Pvt. Ltd, expressed his admiration at the facilities provided by Mundra Port, stating that “We were doing half of our exports from Mundra till now. However, after seeing the presentation given by APSEZ, which well showcased the infrastructure, storage facilities and Liner Service Routes, we look forward to boost our volumes through Mundra in upcoming cotton season.”

Located on the West Coast of India, the Port of Mundra is perfectly poised to serve as the ideal gateway for cotton exports, due to 7-8 weekly services connecting India to China and Bangladesh, along with 2 Services per week to Karachi.
