The Confederation of Indian Textile Industry (CITI), the apex industry chamber of the textiles and clothing industry of India, is organizing the 8th Asian Textile Conference (ATEXCON) on the 22nd and 23rd of September in Mumbai.

The conference would discuss the potential areas of business cooperation among the Asian textile producing countries.

The event will be addressed by senior Government of India officials, and senior textile and clothing industrialists from India and abroad. The business sessions on textile fibers, global textile trade, technology and innovation and fashion &retailing, will be addressed by executive director of international cotton advisory committee, Mr Jose Sette, Dr Paul Swan from Woolmark, Australia, and the director general International Textile Manufacturers Federation (ITMF), Christian Schindler.

Around 400 leading textile and clothing manufacturers from India and abroad are expected to participate in the event. The premier textile and clothing event, sets useful foundation for multi-sector responses and sustainable recovery in the textile and apparel market.

The event will focus on the emerging textile and apparel industries in Asia and the factors which affect the future competitiveness in the textile sector. It will help textile manufacturers understand the Asian textile market, the developments in the supply chain and guide them to adapt to market conditions.

ATEXCON will give an overview on the recent developments in the Indian textile industry, provide information on the competition and collaboration in the Asian textile market, help develop Intra-Asia trade opportunities and overcome regional trade barriers.

The conference will provide insights on new technology and talent advantages in textile industry, and energy saving textile technologies.

CITI is one of the leading industry chambers representing all the sub sectors of the textiles sector. The Chairmen of Cotton Textiles Export Promotion Council (Texprocil), Synthetic and Rayon Textiles Export Promotion Council (SRTEPC), and Apparel Export Promotion Council (AEPC) are members of the CITI committee.
