Notification No.8/2004-Customs

            In exercise of the powers conferred by sub-section (1) of section 25 of the Customs Act, 1962 (52 of 1962), the Central Government, being satisfied that it is necessary in the public interest so to do, hereby makes the following further amendments in the notification of the Government of India in the Ministry of Finance (Department of Revenue), No. 25/2002-Customs, dated the 1^st March, 2002, namely:-  

In the said notification,-

(A)         in the opening paragraph, for the words, figure and letters “from so much of that portion of the duty of customs leviable thereon which is specified in the said First Schedule, as is in excess of the amount calculated at the rate of 10% ad valorem”, the words “from the whole of the duty of customs leviable thereon which is specified in the said First  Schedule” shall be substituted;

(B)         in the TABLE, after  S.No.27 and the entries relating thereto, following shall be inserted, namely:-

2.             This notification shall come into force on the 9^th day of January, 2004.
